The City and Guilds 3668 level 2 Award in Communication Cabling was completely revised and has proven to be very popular and in much demand. 3668 provides installers, technicians and practitioners in both Data and fibre with the knowledge, skills and confidence that is required to become effective in the installation of communication cabling.
But the progression route offered by the City and Guilds 3668 Level 3 Certificate in Communications Cabling, is being enhanced and we are excited to be one of only 2 other training approved training centres to offer this enhanced level 3.
By providing a training pathway, building levels of skills never seen before in the industry, the knowledge of those technicians and practitioners will not only be job role specific, taking these individuals onto the next level but it will be a significant game changer.

These qualifications were initially developed with the collaboration of the TQC (Training and Qualifications Committee for the Fibreoptics Industries Association) Further collaboration involved BT Openreach, Cityfibre, Hyperoptic, PQMS, TBN Virginmedia and with the technical expertise of Keith White.
The 3668 Communications cabling qualifications provides eligibility for the relevant electrotechnical Certification Scheme (ECS) Network Infrastructure cards (which have replaced the previous ECS Datacomms cards).
Level 2
The 3668 Level 2 Award in Communications Cabling will suit you if you’re new to communication cabling, or have some basic experience. You want to gain the knowledge to succeed in a job or move on to further study.
Learners will be introduced to the scope and opportunities offered within the network infrastructure (communications cabling) and telecoms industry.
This qualification will cover communications cabling processes and principles. Learners will develop skills such as how to install fibre optic, copper and/or air blown fibre cables and micro-ducts.
Level 3
The 3668 Level 3 Certificate in Communications Cabling is for you, if you have experience in installing and testing communication networks. Your work may involve supervising others or managing technical resources.
The qualifications imparts skills and enhnaced techincal knowledge to include the installation of structured cabling and/or work on single-mode and multi-mode fibre cables, containment and associated connection units, installation of earthing and bonding cables, and the fitting out of enclosures with structured cable termination equipment. It also covers comprehensive aspects of testing networks to an advanced level.
