City and Guilds 3668 – 03, Unit 307 Level 3 Fibre Characterisation inc. Fault Finding & Diagnostics
City and Guilds Level 3 | 3 days
Fibre Optic Testing & Characterization for PON, GPON and Telecoms Fibre Optic Networks.
Providing delegates with a greater understanding of the fault-finding methodologies, tools and processes involved when determining faults on a communications network, delegates can apply this understanding by demonstrating the appropriate use and selection of test equipment, when undertaking troubleshooting of faults on a fibre optic network.
This 3668 Level 3 is also designed to significantly enhance the knowledge of fibre technicians who are involved in advanced testing of fibre optic networks, in particular telecoms networks where span lengths are longer. It is anticipated that delegates who are attending this level 3 training course, will have already gained some experience with OTDR’s.
Physical and logical fault location and fault-finding methodologies
Test equipment for fault location
Correct test documentation to assist and implement rapid fault diagnosis methodologies
The advantages and disadvantages of different fibre optic types according to their specifications.
The different transmitting characteristics for different types of cabling.
Identify the different characteristics of fibre optic cables.
Fibre optic cable and the various appropriate uses.
Fibre optic cabling standards
